From Cordoba, private full day trip to Seville

Itinerary

Seville is a city that leaves its mark and that many agree on defining as special. It may be because of the grandeur of its monuments. Perhaps because of the charm of popular neighborhoods like Triana.

It is possible that it is due to the aroma of jasmine in its squares or the Spanish guitar music heard in its streets. There are those who argue that it is the tradition of their festivals and many are convinced that their tapas are truly responsible.

Our trip begins after being picked up at a hotel or apartment in Córdoba, touring the Córdoba and Sevillian countryside. We arrive in the capital of Andalusia to discover one of the most important and monumental cities in Europe. Its historic center is the largest on the European continent, full of architectural heritage of different styles and steeped in history from the Roman era to regionalist architecture, reaching our days with an unmatched legacy.

Upon arrival, we take a complete guided tour of the Seville Cathedral. Seville Cathedral It is the largest Gothic cathedral in the world, the largest Catholic cathedral in the world (St. Peter’s Basilica is not really a cathedral) and the third largest temple after St. Peter’s Basilica of the Vatican in Rome, and St. Paul’s in London. In 1987 it was declared a World Heritage Site by UNESCO. A visit where we will discover the different spaces of the temple.

We continue the visit to the Alcázar of Seville. The Alcazaris one of the oldest palaces in use in the world. A palace that has experienced different stages in time, from the end of the 11th century to the present day, contemplating from its walls the influence of the different cultures that have passed through the city.

Fortress palace ordered to be built by Abd Al Raman III, is profusely made up of rooms exquisitely decorated with plasterwork, tiling and coffered ceilings, which combine well with the splendid gardens and water, thus creating a complex that is difficult to forget. They stand out within the palace, the Patio de las Doncellas, with some beautiful tiled plinths, or the Patio de las Muñecas, which has an interesting collection of capitals.

We finished the morning visiting the Santa Cruz neighborhood, enjoying the smell of jasmine and orange blossom among the alleys and squares.

We will have free time for lunch (we recommend places to reserve according to your preferences). After lunch, we visited the Plaza de España, a symbol of regionalist architecture. Built for the Ibero-American Exposition of 1929, it is a Mudejar jewel by the great master Aníbal González.

At the end of the visit, we return to Córdoba.
